      Data Analysis Release Notes 02/26/2024

      Release Notes Summary

      The changes outlined here will be released to Looker training instances on 02/12/2024 and production instances on 02/26/2024. Deployment should be complete by 8am ET. There may be slight delays when accessing Looker after the release as the system updates are being applied.

      Please note that the custom multiselect fields will not be accessible in Looker until March 4th. The configuration for these new fields is deployed using a different process, and is updated during the maintenance window on Sunday mornings. On Sunday, February 25th, we will be testing the deployment process, and on the following Sunday, March 3rd, the updated configuration will be deployed.

      There may be changes to this article until the release date. 

      LookML Dashboards

      • Updates to DQ Supplemental LookML Dashboard.

      Client Model

      • Updated Gender field to use semicolons.
      • Created a concatenated race ethnicity field.
      • Updated the label for the "Referrals: Referral Date" dimension group.
      • Set up configuration needed to publish custom multi-select fields. 

      Coordinated Entry Model

      • Updated Gender field to use semicolons.
      • Created a concatenated race ethnicity field.
      • Updated the label for the "Referrals: Referral Date" dimension group.

      Detailed Changes

      Lookml Dashboards

      • The "Supplemental Data Quality LookML Dashboard" was updated in many different ways to add additional data and to make the overall dashboard more user-friendly.

      Client Model

      • Updated the "Clients: Gender" field to use semicolons between options in the list, to make it easier to see the options. 

        • Field name: "static_demographics.gender_text"

      • Added a new "Race and Ethnicity All" field in the "Clients" view which shows a list of all options chosen. Options are separated by semicolons.

        • Field name:  "static_demographics.race_ethnicity_all_text"
      • Updated the label for the "Referrals: Referral Date" dimension group. The label has changed from "Date Date" to "Referrals Date"
        • Field name:  "referrals.date_date" 
      • Set up configuration needed to publish custom multi-select fields. Custom Clarity multi-select fields published to data analysis can now be seen in Looker in the relevant view.

      Required Action:

      Any User Created Spreadsheets of data exported through Looker that use the Referrals Date field label as a header will need to be updated.

      • Updated the "Clients: Gender" field to use semicolons between options in the list, to make it easier to see the options. 
        • Field name: "static_demographics.gender_text"
      • Updated the following outreach views on the back end to match the updated outreach DB schema.
        • "outreach_fencing_geolocations_map"
        • "outreach_encampment_geolocations_map"
      • Updated Encampments view.
        • The following fields have been moved to the Encampment Boundaries view: 
          • "Polygon" - Field Name:  "encampments.polygon"
          • "Center of Encampment" - Field Name: "encampments.polygon_center"
        • The following field has been removed from the Encampments view: 
          • "Hidden field" - Field Name: "encampments.custom_data"
        • Updated date dimension groups to remove raw fields for consistency
          • "Added" - Field Name: "encampments.added-date"
          • "Deleted" - Field Name: "encampments.deleted_date"
      • Added new Encampment Boundaries view.
        • Fields moved from Encampments view: 
          • "Polygon" - "encampment_boundaries.polygon"
          • "Center of Encampment" - "encampment_boundaries.polygon_center"
        • New fields added:
          • "ID" - "encampment_boundaries.id"
          • "Added" - "encampment_boundaries.added"
          • "As Of" - "encampment_boundaries.as_of"
          • "Deleted" - "encampment_boundaries.deleted"
          • "Last Updated" - "encampment_boundaries.last_updated"
          • "User Created" - "encampment_boundaries.ref_user_text"

      Required Action:

      We expect aliasing to prevent any content breakage from moving the "Polygon" and "Center of Encampment" fields. Any content using these fields should be reviewed to see if it works as expected.

      Any content using the hidden "Custom Data" field should be updated.
