2024 HMIS Data Standards: Looker Checklist

Bitfocus created dashboards using the "System Activity" model to review the 2024 Data Dictionary (DD) changes to Looker. These will include both Looks and Dashboards as separate visualizations. Looks review individual Looks while Dashboards review Dashboards and Looks included in Dashboards. So, if you have a Look “linked” to a Dashboard”, it will appear in both lists.

Please note you will need to request your BFF or CoAD to send you downloads of these dashboards for your instance.

Below the details for the dashboards is a list of other picklist changes being made in Clarity Human Services that will impact Looker Dashboards/Looks.

Please note at this time that the System Activity model does not check “Custom Filters” used in Looks when checking for applicable content.

Project DE
- “ES Project Type” - Lists Dashboards/Looks using “2.02 Project Information” “Emergency Shelter”. The object is:

- “Refused Custom Fields” - Lists all Dashboards/Looks using “Client Refused” or “Client refused” as a custom field. This impacts any data element that has "Client Refused" in the list of picklist values.

Program DE SSVF/RHY/HOPWA
- “SSVF AMI” - Lists all Dashboards/Looks using “V4 Percent of AMI” data element - all picklist values changed so this checks for any usage of this data element. The impacted objects are:

Dashboards 2024 Retired DE & Looks 2024 Retired DE

No new data will be collected for any of the "retired" Data Elements. You will only have access to historical data in Looker.

Retired Project DE
- “ES Track Method” - Lists all Dashboards/Looks using this retired “2.02 Project Information” DE. It should be removed and replaced with the new Project Type Code picklist value. The retired object is:
  - programs.tracking_method
    - Customers will need to manually remove this retired object from Dashboards/Looks and ensure the project type information is accurate.
- “Is HMIS Project” - Lists all Dashboards/Looks using this retired “2.02 Project Information” DE. It should be removed and replaced with the new DE. The retired object is:
