Upcoming Changes

3.20 Housing Move-In Date

To better align with the HUD HMIS Data Standards, ‘Housing Move-In Date’ will be removed from the new 2020 System ‘Status’ and ‘Exit’ screens, and should only be collected and updated on the client program Enrollment screen beginning on October 1. According to the HUD HMIS Data Dictionary, there should be only one ‘Housing Move-In Date’ collected for the Head of Household per program enrollment.

On October 1, there will be a data mapping that takes place which will map the ‘Housing Move-In Date’ value from the program screen that has the greatest screen program date/information date with a non-null 'Housing Move-In Date’ to the Enrollment screen in the client program enrollment.

IMPORTANT: Beginning October 1, please be sure to enter and update the ‘Housing Move-In Date’ on each Head of Household’s Program Enrollment screen when a client moves into housing, as the 'Housing Move-In Date' field on the Enrollment screen will be the field information pulled for HUD reporting. Any ‘Housing Move-In Date’ data entered on ‘Status’ or ‘Exit’ screens will not be incorporated to ensure proper reporting.

Next Steps for You:

  • On October 1, begin recording any ‘Housing Move-In Date’ updates on any applicable client’s program Enrollment screen.
  • If utilizing any custom Status and Exit screens, on October 1, we recommend removing the ‘Housing Move-In Date’ field from these screens. Users should be trained to update the ‘Housing Move-In Date’ for clients on the program enrollment screen, as this will be the ‘Housing Move-In Date’ utilized for reporting.
  • Stay tuned for a future update with Looker guidance to help determine any ‘Housing Move-In Date’ mapping impacts.
